Your data

Privacy policy

handsoffmyhobby is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what is processed when you visit the site, why, by whom, and what rights you have. The data controller is the publisher of handsoffmyhobby, identified in the legal notice.

Cookies and tracking

At this time, handsoffmyhobby sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, and uses no tracking tools to follow you across the web. If this changes, this policy will be updated first and, where the law requires it, your consent will be asked before anything is set.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. To deliver pages and protect the service against abuse, the host automatically processes technical server logs, such as your IP address, browser type (user agent), the page requested and the time of the request. This processing relies on our legitimate interest in running a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept by the host for a limited period under its own policies.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are transmitted through Formspree, a form service that forwards the message to us. This data is used only to read and answer your message and is not used for marketing. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering requests sent to us, or the steps you ask us to take.

Data stored in your browser

Your language choice and the progress of the beginner checklist may be stored in your browser’s local storage. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Links to other sites

Guides contain links to Amazon and other external sites. Once you follow such a link, the other site’s own privacy and cookie policies apply. See our affiliate disclosure for how these links work.

Transfers outside your country

Vercel and Formspree are based in the United States and may process data there. Such transfers rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses or, where applicable, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, and in particular under the GDPR, you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence. To exercise these rights, use the contact page.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated, for example if the site’s services change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
